I have been doing Zumba with Jess for about a year now. When I began Zumba I weighed 135 pounds and wore a size 8. I now weigh 110 pounds and wear a size 2. I never dreamed dancing would shed the pounds and inches like it did. And the amazing thing is that I use to go 3-4 times a week and now only go 1-2 times and have kept the weight off! Zumba has been a life changing experience for me. I have never enjoyed a work out so much. I was quite hesitant about trying Zumba when I would see the commercials on TV but once I tried the class I was hooked day one. The classes are so much more fun than dancing in front of a television. My favorite part is that all my friends love it so I don't have to go alone!

I've tried many workouts at home, going to the gym, and walking. Never stuck to any one particular thing UNTIL I started Zumba in April 2011. My coworkers begged me to try it with them. I put off going forever. Then I finally decided to give it a try and I haven't stopped! Its fun and it feels like dancing. Don't get me wrong, Jess works us from head to toe! And I sweat in places that I didn't know could sweat! When I started doing Zumba with UPF in april 2011 I was 218 pounds in a size 18. A year later, I'm 184 pounds and in a size 14. Thank you for the awesome Zumba session at CC Woodson! After 3 weeks, 7 sessions with Zumba, and 1 hour dedication to each session...I lost 10 lbs and I feel great! I'm a 34 yr old mom of a 2 year old and a 6 month old. I was told when the baby was 2 months old that my cholesterol was 320!!! Too young for cholesterol meds so the doctor said losing weight was my best option. I decreased my fat gram daily intake to 20 fat grams/day, and started attending your class mid-October (twice a week). In those 4 1/2 months I've lost 35 pounds and my cholesterol is now down to 216!! Yay Zumba!!!

I have always exercised but would tire easily or get burned out, but since I found Zumba, it is just the "bestest". I'm not a dancer, but I sure am having fun trying and losing inches and lbs. in the process. You make it fun and modify it to benefit all fitness levels. About a year and a half ago, Jess started a zumba class in my church's gym. Out of curiousity, as much as anything else, I decided to try the class. Since then, I have found zumba to be very helpful as well as loads of fun. Because of my weight loss and a decrease in body inches, I am able to get off of 2 medications and a reduction in one medication. Per my doctor's visit Tuesday, August 27. I have also dropped 2 pant sizes and am working on dropping another! Your Zumba classes (Mon/Thur at CC Woodsen) along with my Yoga class has me feeling great and do I dare say at 54 looking good!!
